How to Map an FTP site to Windows 10

 In Microsoft Windows

Sometimes users do not want to use 3rd party applications to access content on FTP sites.  Mapping to an FTP site allows the users to access their FTP sites through Windows Explorer.

1)         In This PC, Click Add a network location

2)         Click Next

3)         Click Next

4)         Type the location of the ftp site and click Next

Note:   (In this example we’re using Stanford university’s public FTP site ftp://pangea.stanford.edu/)

5)

  • If your FTP site does not require a username, click Next
  • If your FTP requires a username, Uncheck Log on anonymously, enter the username and click Next

6)         Give the site an easy to remember name and click Next

7)         Click Finish
